Story:
Football has been something I’ve always enjoyed, but it wasn’t until recent years that I was aware I could coach. Growing up, all of my coaches were males and I never saw coaching as an option because I didn’t see anyone like me doing it. Coaching has opened so many doors and taught me a lot about myself, it’s exciting to know there’s so much more to learn and many progression routes.
Reason for nomination:
My passion for being a positive role model for young people in the game is paramount. I want to provide a visible model that shows the possibility and proof that there’s more routes into football than just playing the beautiful game. Moreover, I am an advocate for female coaches and female empowerment as I currently run the ‘female coaches club’ at UCFB Wembley. I want my peers to be able to access opportunities which have historically been unavailable to them because of their gender. This needs to change and hopefully I can be a part of the wider movement.
