Anita Abayomi
Story:
She started all female led podcast called goaldiggers. From then, she’s been able to write articles and interview some of the greatest people in sport I.e Dina Asher smith. Anita is football fan(chelsea), has been on sky sports multiple times, invited to speak/host at the chelsea foundation partnership with BCOMMS for black history month. Hosted the euros viewing in partnership with adidas. Held the womens footballsummit in partnership with EAsports.
Reason for nomination:
Dealing with sexism and misogyny, Anita has been flying the flag for women in sport especially black women. She has always spoken up about the sexism, misogyny and, racism that she faces. Even when others are on the receiving end, she is never afraid to speak up for them. She represents women like me who face discrimination because of the notion “football is a man’s game”, breaking barriers and creating space for others to come through as well. Seeing someone who looks like me working in the sport I love, is groundbreaking & inspiring. She deserves the very best!
