Carol Wright
Story:
Carol Wright or 'Kiwi Carol' as she affectionately calls herself to friends and family is one of Egham Cricket Club's unsung heroes. Her current roles are the ECC Membership Secretary and Safeguarding Officer at a thriving large club in surrey. She has been a longstanding member of not only the club, but the committee too and as a Safeguarding officer it is not an easy role to take on when you have so many young people to look after in different age groups and with varying degrees of ability and behavioural problems that are statemented or emerging!
Reason for nomination:
Aside from her official roles at ECC, she always has a minute to talk to parents at the children's practice and/ the newly formed ladies section, providing encouragement, guidance and expert wisdom to all who seek her expertise. She is the glue that binds the club together serving on the committee too. She is beyond patient and enthusiastic with the children, organising the awards and certificates recognising how important it is to the children to see their growth. Encouraging others to grow their business' be it from a Mum setting up a kitchen restaurant at the club etc. She's very fair and remains professional and calm at all times whilst running a smooth training session for lots of excited children! She is also an excellent player herself and when she has joined the ladies team practise sessions, has literally thrown herself around the pitch which is really admirable and putting younger players to shame with her skill and dexterity! Therefore, this is why I nominate her because she deserves to be recognised and often people like this because they're not the captain or a coach get forgotten about in a big club.
