Cheryl Wilson

Committed Coach

Story:

Cheryl has had an incredible athlete through her life. Representing Ireland in Rugby and Ulster.
Her return to club has opened the opportunity to coach and has been a coach/player for women’s and head coach for men’s ensuring the clubs participation and enjoyment has increased.
This has led to an increased uptake in playing numbers for both mens and womens and development of future representative players.
Not content with that, Cheryl has then taken on a new challenge of AFL and is part of the founding team of the Ulster champions and will represent Ulster in the AFL Europe Champions League. An incredible athlete and coach who puts the we before the me.

Reason for nomination:

Cheryl deserves to be seen for the countless hours of communication, behind the scenes preparation and even more important, supportive conversations with players and support staff.
I’ve never met an individual who can affect so much change whilst ducking from the limelight.
Cheryl will rarely deny an opportunity to support the club and team effort, from helping prep post match meals, cleanup in the changing rooms or pulling a pint in the club bar. Cheryl is a phenomenal individual who deserves all the recognition that can be given to her!
