Debra Nelson
Story:
Debra Nelson's involvement with Football Beyond Borders began when she was a teenager as a participant in their outreach programme. She now helps deliver the FBB girls programme and works as a mentor and coach for 40+ young people. A confident commentator and presenter, Debra did the voiceover for the Lionesses’ World Cup squad announcement, and she’ll be joining our panel to talk about the legacy of the Women’s World Cup.
Debra's Authenticity and vibe has influenced and inspired many black females to be happy with themselves and to not be afraid to be them.
Reason for nomination:
From meeting Debra in 2021/22, She has been Shining star. She is an amazing role model to all the young people she is working with and is extremely brave to express her concerns about the Ethnic diversity within the female game.
I am extremely proud to call Debra My friend and sister. She has been an absolute rock and any girl working with her is lucky to be in her presence.
