Faye Andrews
Passionate Player
Story:
Back in 1991 in my first year of secondary school I pestered my PE department in an all girls school to put together a football team as I didn’t want to play netball. I was told it wasn’t possible, so myself and a couple of mates brought in a football and started a kick around at lunchtimes. It gained traction and the girls football team is still going strong. This all after I set up the girls team for the last 2 years of primary school in which we won the inter schools trophy back to back before I moved to secondary school
Reason for nomination:
Passionate about equal opportunities for women and having been an international junior badminton player I have always wanted to compete on the same level as the men
