Story:
Jess has been refereeing for over 7 years and is one of the most experienced female refs currently active in Shropshire. This is despite having a condition that means she can barely get out of bed after a game due to severe muscle fatigue. Jess continued refereeing whilst 5 months pregnant and was back refereeing 3 weeks after giving birth!
Reason for nomination:
There are hardly any female referees in Shropshire, even fewer are over the age of 18. Jess goes out refereeing week after week for little recognition as she doesn't fit the mould of 'young referee we can push to the top quickly'. Constantly overlooked for the 'big games', it's about time someone other than her family told Jess how much she means to the football community.
