Jessica Da costa Monteiro
Story:
Jessica is a very committed young player she is the most determined individual I know. Regardless of any adversity she will persevere to achieve her goals.
She started playing football later than all her peers but she doesn’t that let that stop her in fact drives her.
She is now playing for Watford under 23 development team at only 16. She has played internationally at under 16 level for Portugal and is such an inspiration to us as a family and for her younger brother who is determined to follow in her footsteps.
She is a very strong advocate for women’s football and for equality and diversity.
Reason for nomination:
Jessica is a talented young player who is determined to promote diversity and equality in the women’s game. Her passion and determination is infectious she will be a great role model to represent the women’s game and bright light to how important it is to continue to advocate for change and equality and representation.
