Mhari Lindsay

Committed Coach

Story:

Mhari has been involved in football from a very young age as a player and a phenomenal player at that. However she sustained a back injury which has prevented her from getting back on the pitch but she hasnt let that stop her love for the game. She started coaching initially because her neice who shared her passion for football wanted to get in to a team (now plays for Glasgow City). Over the year Mhari has provided a safe space and a phenomenal set up for hundreds of females ranging from aged 7 right through to 60+. She coaches at all levels from under 7s right through to the striders and dedicates her time to all of her teams whilst working full time. Mhari takes on various roles within the club and spends evenings on the pitch coaching or trawling through suppliers to ensure costs are kept as low as possible to ensure everyone can play the game they love. She takes time to effectively plan coaching sessions and works effortlessly to ensure the smooth running of each team setting up games for each age group battling to get parks for games. Mhari does all of this with nothing but a smile on her face and you can tell through observation she loves what she does. This is all voluntary and has been recognised as volunteer of the year within Scottish Womans Football for year 2022. Each and every girl involved in the club has nothing but admiration for the hard work and effort Mhari puts in to her coaching sessions and has the utmost respect for her given her copious amounts of experience she has. What makes this opportunity even better for Mhari is she spends time watching Chelsea WFC whether at the game or on TV and refers to Emma Hayes as her Role Model. Mhari is an absolute diamond and Cumnock Juniors Ladies and Girls Football club would not be if it werent for all of hard work Mhari has put in to the club.

Reason for nomination:

Mhari deserves to be seen for the relentless effort she has put in to the club to improve players abilities and get every girl playing at a competitive level. Each and every girl appreciates the work she has done but this opportunity as stated is a money cant buy experience and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this experience than Mhari. Absolute asset to the club and womans football in general.
