Varsha Bailey-Gunputh
Committed Coach

Story:

Varsha is of a Mauritius-Italian background. She was never allowed to play football due to the stereotype that surround the Hindu community. She always felt left out and of a feeling that she never belong and that hurt a lot as football for her it's her first love that she was never allowed to commit completely. Now that she is in her adulthood and with a baby girl she is trying to give herself, her baby and all the other girls like her a chance at "football love" again and she wants to ensure that no one else has to got through the heartache like she did.

Reason for nomination:

Our coach has founded Olympia Infinity FC, a women's football team based in Hackney,to help people who suffer from Mental Health to have a safe place where they can feel safe to place and not being judge. Although she has a new born baby she never fails to ensure that the team has everything it needs to function. She looks for sponsorship and gave us our amazing kit, have found us a permanent 3G pitch to train in Hackney, and we all know how hard it is to get a pitch that's not already being taken by the men's team. She coaches us, come to all our matches and she doesn't get paid she does it all out of love from the game and for us. She is the best coach ever. It's never about her but about the team and she deserves to be nominated
