Alison Knight
Reason for nomination:
I have played football since I can remember and still play twice a week come rain or shine. It has always been my go to. I am an advocate for equality in all levels of the game and an ambassador for development of the women's game in particular. I began coaching young women 13 years ago and believe in the power of sport to transform futures and change lives and would like to continue to witness this grow. I work as a mental health practitioner and advocate for inclusivity within football. I am an avid supporter of the game and watch or play football in most of my spare time going along to matches and incentivizing the spirit of community on and off the pitch. I contend with my own person physical battles due to a diagnosis of Turners syndrome but football again has proven beneficial to maintaining management of my condition. I hope to continue to incentive and inspire hope off the back of utilising my various volunteer roles at a coaching level and events such as the Euro's and Olympics to broaden the beautiful game.
