Amii Griffith

Amii Griffith
Community Champions

Reason for nomination:

Amii noticed that the development team at our grassroots club wasn’t getting the support to learn and grow that we deserved- so she took it upon herself to come to our matches to advise and support, give us 1:1 coaching, and then becoming our full time coach 18 months ago. She has volunteered her time week in and out, dealing with a very difficult committee situation in the wider club who constantly didn’t give her the respect she’s deserved, to support people new and returning to football - leading us from win to win and giving so much positive energy through our losses too. She instills such a wonderful spirit that means the team work hard and work for each other, and have created an inclusive football family that is the envy other teams. Amii has recently completed her UEFA B licence, and she is constantly working on improving as a coach and most importantly ensuring female, LGBT and black representation across grassroots football leadership. She’s volunteering now with a grassroots girls team too, further sharing her experience, wisdom and love of football with the next generation of ballers. Amii is known and loved by so many, across women and non binary teams and leagues, I don’t think I could do justice to the impact she’s had. Nobody deserves to be recognised more.
