Passionate Players

Reason for nomination:

Georgina runs a gymnastics club for children aged 6 months to 16 years. The passion she shows for for the sport, for the children is inspiring. Everything she does, she does to make their lives better, to give them opportunities. Watching them grow, be it in skill, confidence, making friends, spurs her on to do more, to do it bigger and better. so much so, that she has fought for the past year with the local council to be able to have a purpose fit building built so that the children can have bigger and better equipment, and be able to have more opportunities to either do the sport they love leisurely, or to compete. She has had so many obstacles thrown her way, having huge challenged to overcome, setbacks that could have made her give up, but instead, she powers on, stronger than before, more determined than ever to make it a success. she never gives up, ever. Her only way is forward, no matter how hard that maybe.

She has a gymnastics club in Australia which she travels back to every year, to make sure they're thriving, and doing well.

She has a wonderful team behind her, me being one of the longstanding coaches. She really is wonderful to work for, not only a boss but she has become family. She turned my life around in a way that I didn't even think was possible. She guided me onto a path of teaching that was, and continues to be, so rewarding. Georgina encourages me, leads by example, she is there for me, makes me feel truly valued and appreciated. She made it possible for me to remember why i loved the sport. I thought i loved it as a child, and trained for 12 years, however that was nothing in comparison to how i feel now, teaching gymnastics is such a huge part of my life, of who i am, its what makes me happy, makes me strive for better, for myself, my daughter, and every single child that comes through those doors. That is all down to Georgina. And for everything that she is, and that she does, that is why i believe wholeheartedly that she deserves to be recognised for it.
