Lauren Jacobs

Lauren deserves to be seen because she has uniquely created a podcast and media brand that allows female athletes from developing nations, especially Africa, to tell their stories and be heard. The situation for women’s sport, and female athletes is very different in developing nations and Lauren is working to create space for these athletes to be heard and seen. After a few short months in the sport space, Lauren was noticed by international organisations and nominated for the IWP awards, and approached by numerous brands and companies to collaborate. The most rewarding thing for her is to have the athletes she interviews, say how much they enjoyed the conversation and how blessed they felt. Lauren also is striving to create more opportunities for girls and women to be on commentary at domestic level and is herself, representing women at commentary level in a field still male – dominated.
