Growing up, I lacked support and was often discouraged as I was surrounded by people who made me feel that I should have other interests, rather than follow a sport I was passionate about and played well at, so this really filled me with insecurities and self doubt. My church had organised a female football tournament for the first time after ten years for all the UK Coptic churches and I really felt a revival within me. I transformed my passion into a central part of my life and have been consistent with organising weekly football training sessions which has become a highlight for me. I've watched and helped beginners evolve into enthusiastic and consistent players and this has felt so rewarding. I nominated my friend Sarah, as since playing with her in the tournament, she has played a pivotal role in inspiring and reigniting this passion within me and I would absolutely love to experience this opportunity with her.
