Paige Gowans-Smith

Paige is a massive advocate of the women’s game, and an active participant in improving access for female footballers, not only for adult women in league football, but also for girls youth football and women’s recreational and beginners football. Paige is a UEFA qualified coach and referee, and also works for the Football Foundation and FFF Recreational Football driving more funding into the game and more players into regular exercise through football. Paige played at a high level herself, including Liverpool Ladies, but her career was cruelly cut short by injury. She channels her passion for football into helping others enjoy the game and occasionally manages to kick a ball herself. I can’t think of anyone more passionate about the women’s game, and she deserves for her passion and commitment to be recognised.
