Sirayah Shiraz

When I saw this illustrious award open for nomination, only one name came to mind: Sirayah Shiraz.

Sirayah is a passionate professional who has dedicated her career to both the advancement of women’s football as well as the promotion of diversity and inclusion in the beautiful game. Her ability to tackle tough issues and make them relatable to her audience is priceless, and the ties she has built within the football ecosystem have proven to be invaluable as she strives to communicate important stories.

I have been a witness to the poise and professionalism that Sirayah has demonstrated in helping people understand the importance of diverse perspectives in football, and have seen her rise to the occasion to combat hatred and bigotry. Sirayah is a role model to the Black and Arab communities, and her evergrowing portfolio continues to inspire. Knowing that someone with a background similar to many supporters, who’s struggled with the same challenges as many in her community, has worked her way to become such an effective voice in the footballing world is greatly encouraging and inspiring.

Should your esteemed panel grant Sirayah this honourable award, I am confident that she will be one of your most active recipients and grasp the opportunity to continue making a difference in the ecosystem. This award will not merely be an honour for her, but it’ll serve as a catalyst for positive change as Sirayah continues to use her talents to positively influence the football community’s present and future.
