Viv Jeffers

Viv is the sole reason that hundreds of young girls and women are able to join a football community that builds, empowers and supports them. Calling Viv the coach of East London Ladies doesn't do the sheer amount of work justice, as she is the reason that there are 11 different teams from Little Dribblers to a Mums Squad to a beginners adult team and a competitive First Team. Viv provides opportunities for girls and women from all walks of life to play football, exercise, make friends, build their confidence and most importantly, feel a part of a community that welcomes them. Viv deserves to be seen because without her, people like myself, would not have the chance to do something I love. The success of the Lionnesses and the rise of women's football is worth nothing if people like Viv, putting in all the hours to truly create and facilitate opportunities at grassroots level are not celebrated.
