Reason for nomination:

I deserve to be seen for my work in women’s football because I’ve put so much of my time, energy, and passion into shining a light on the FAWNL; a league that’s so often overlooked.

Through my platforms, @abbiesmatchdays, and @FootieFusion_, I’ve worked hard to give these teams and players the recognition they deserve.

FootieFusion has grown massively in under a year (over 1,700 followers and a reach of 250,000) but more importantly, it’s become a platform dedicated to covering the lower tiers of women’s football. I’ve also helped over 45 aspiring journalists and photographers break into sports media, giving them opportunities to report on games, interview players, and capture the action.

But for me, this has always been personal. Week after week, I’m at FAWNL games, telling the stories that don’t get told and making sure this part of the women’s game isn’t ignored. Being seen for this work would help me push that even further - bringing more attention, more opportunities, and more respect to the lower tiers of women’s football.
