Reason for nomination:

I am a 19 year old aspiring footballer and Under Armour athlete currently playing in defence for tier 4 side London Seaward.

I really struggled to find my place in the footballing world growing up. As a young aspiring female footballer I didn't see any representation of the women's game in the media to the point where at 9 years old I believed that I would have to be the first girl to play in the Premier League if I wanted to be a footballer.

Although the media representation of women in football has definitely increased over the last 10 years, I noticed last year when I scrolled through my own social media for you page I saw plenty of male football content creators but barely any female football content creators. So I made the decision that I was going to help change this, so that young girls wouldn't have the same experience I had growing up, and I set up my own social media channels (@beatricerogers_) and began creating and posting football content online.

Every piece of content I have created since has had the aim of increasing the representation of women in football and talking about the side of the game that isn't typically portrayed.

I'm a super proud of what I have achieved online so far and I regularly receive comments from young girls who watch my content which I love. But these nice comments are often overshadowed by the hate comments I receive about being a woman in football. But every hate comment just acts as a reminder of how far we still have to go and it definitely helps to push me to continue creating content and battling these stereotypes.
