Gemma Ali

I am honoured to nominate Gemma Ali for her exceptional dedication and impact as a coach for women in football aged around 30 to 55. Her unwavering commitment, leadership, and ability to inspire personal growth make her an outstanding candidate for this.

Since she started FootyFit just over 2 years ago Gemma has transformed the lives of many women by fostering a supportive and empowering environment. She has helped her players achieve their personal and football playing targets, whether in fitness, or personal development. Her coaching philosophy emphasises strength, confidence, and perseverance, ensuring that every woman she coaches feels valued and capable of reaching new heights.

She is a mentor, motivator, and role model to all of us. She has organised charity matches, and continuously advocates for women’s involvement in sports and fitness. She also finds time to coach her daughter’s team. Her influence extends beyond training sessions, as she encourages us to meet up, watch games together and support each other through injury and whenever needed.

The impact of her work is evident through the many success stories of the women she has coached—whether it’s helping them overcome personal challenges, achieve fitness milestones, or even compete in tournaments or in one of the 3 teams she has built up playing in local leagues. With one more team coming soon! Her passion for coaching, combined with her deep care for the well-being of her players, makes her truly deserving of this award.

I wholeheartedly recommend Gemma for this honour and firmly believe that her contributions to coaching and the empowerment of women should be recognised as would the over 70 older women she has inspired and encouraged to play or return to Football!
