Lucy Brodure
Committed Coaches

Reason for nomination:

I have been coaching football for the past few months, ensuring that every child enjoys the game while helping girls build confidence in playing, especially alongside boys. I’ve seen firsthand how football can break barriers, bringing people together regardless of language or background.
Growing up in Belgium, I didn’t have access to football as a girl, and even now, opportunities remain limited, with few clubs and little priority given to the women’s game by local councils. This lack of access fuels my passion to ensure every child—especially girls—has the opportunity to play and feel included in football.
Beyond coaching, I have international experience working on children's rights programmes in Nepal and Cambodia, focusing on children's clubs and women's empowerment initiatives. These experiences reinforced my belief in sport as a powerful tool for social change.
I am currently developing my coaching qualifications while also being part of the URC Women's Leadership Academy 2025, a programme dedicated to empowering women in leadership roles. In my professional role at UK Youth, I work as a Youth Development Coordinator, supporting young people in their social action journeys. Additionally, I contribute to a Sport England project on physical literacy, further deepening my understanding of how sport can empower and develop young people.
I am committed to making football an inclusive and welcoming space for all. Being part of the We Can See You network would allow me to learn, grow and contribute to making football more accessible, ensuring that no child is left out of the game simply because of their gender or background or financial barriers.
